VERY IMPORTANT!

PASSPORT IS Highly Recommended

SEACruises strongly recommends that all guests travel with a passport that is valid for at least six (6) months beyond the end of their cruise. This greatly assists guests who may need to fly out of the United States to meet their ship at the next available port should they miss their scheduled embarkation in a U.S. port; guests entering the U.S. at the end of their cruise; and guests needing to fly to the U.S. before their cruise ends, because of medical, family, personal or business emergencies, missing a ship's departure from a port of call, involuntary disembarkation from a ship due to misconduct, or other reasons.

Guests who need to fly to the United States before their cruise ends will likely experience significant delays and complications related to booking airline tickets and entering the United States if they do not have a valid U.S. passport with them.

U.S. citizens taking "closed-loop" cruises are not required to have a passport, but will need proof of citizenship such as an original or certified copy of a birth certificate, a certificate of naturalization, a passport card, an enhanced driver's license (EDL) as well as a government-issued photo ID. Children are also required to bring proof of citizenship, and if 16 and over, a photo ID is also required.

If a cruise begins and ends in different U.S. ports or begins and ends in a foreign port (such as our Alaska cruises and Hawaii cruises) a valid passport or other recognized WHTI-compliant document is required. A valid passport is required if you are traveling on any of our Europe cruises.

HOWEVER....

If there is an emergency during the cruise and you need to fly back to the U.S. you will NOT be allowed to board an airplane without a valid passport. That is why it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Note: This rule may change at any time. For up to date information please see: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

The name on your passport MUST match the name on the cruise line manifest given to us at the time you register.

There is NO REFUND for guests who show up at the pier and are denied boarding due to improper documentation.

Non-US Citizens will be responsible to determine that they possess the correct documentation to depart and return to the U.S.

Need assistance in obtaining a passport?

Please Note: The US Department of Homeland Security has recently postponed the January 8th 2009 deadline for passports on this cruise in which case passengers "may" be allowed to enter the countries visited on this cruise with a government issued ID PLUS an original county issued birth certificate plus any bridge documents that will connect the exact name of the birth certificate with the names on the ship's manifest (such as a marriage license. Agency STRONGLY RECOMMENDS that you obtain and bring a valid passport.

Traveling with Children

Minors traveling without both parents or legal guardians will need a notarized affidavit authorizing the minor to leave the country. Please click HERE for a sample (PDF). Also please note that any cabin with a guest under 21 yrs MUST have a guest in that cabin at least 25 years old. (Married couples excepted - documentation required.)

Insurance We can not stress how highly we recommend Trip Insurance. Cancellation fees will NOT BE WAIVED under any circumstances. Insurance Prices
Cruise Tickets Your boarding pass will be sent to you approximately 10 days before your cruise, along with other information that will be helpful to you. In the unlikely event that you do not receive the actual tickets, it's not a problem. All the documentation required for you to board the ship is stored in the computers at the pier. Simply present your passport and you will be given your boarding pass.
