Cheryl
Almgren Taylor began quilting in 2000 but has been involved
with fabric arts most of her life. She learned to sew
at the age of 13 and continued to enjoy it as an adult,
making many outfits for her children when they were
small.
Her career as a published designer began in 2007 when
Martingale & Co. (That Patchwork Place) released
her Storybook Snugglers pattern series that followed
by Deck the Halls, a collection of Christmas quilts
for the home, in 2009. Her second book, Inspirational
Appliqué: Reflections of Faith, Hope & Love,
is scheduled for release in October 2011.
In addition to her new book, Cheryl's work appaears
regularly in such publications as Quick Quilts and McCall's
Quilting. Two of her quilts, "Apple Pie" and
"Sweet and Juicy", have been feature on the
cover.
In addition to her commercial designing, Cheryl enjoys
creating pictorial art quilts and has displayed her
work at Heritage Quilters Celebration in Lancaster,
PA and the NQA show in Columbia, OH.
She lectures and teaches regionally and nationally,
as time permits, and has been on faculty at International
Quilt Festival in both Houston and Long Beach.Cheryl
is also a teacher in the public schools with a BA in
English Literature and a MA in Curriculum & Instruction.
She currently works with the middle school Gifted &
Talented program in Randolph, NJ, but spent many years
in the elementary classroom.A transplanted Californian,
she and her husband moved to northern New Jersey thirteen
years ago. She and her husband, Kenny, are the parents
of three terrific children, now grown, and are grandparents
to the six most amazing and beautiful grandchildren
east and west of the Mississippi, with a seventh expected
in June. |

Nancy
Prince, an award winning quilt artist from Orlando,
Florida, specializes in thread painting. Her anyone-can-do-it
approach to thread painting is fun, easy and a new
way for quiltersto broaden their quilting experience.
Nancy
is the author of Simple Thread Painting published
by the American Quilter's Society, has taped several
episodes for Simply Quiltsand Creative Living on PBS,
has appeared in national magazines and has won numerous
quilting awards. She has won an Honorable Mention
at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, won
first place in Large Pictorial at the AQS Quilt Show
in Paducah and Outstanding Innovative Quilt at Road
to Californiaplus Best of Show at the NQA Quilt Show.
Her quilts have won Best of Show, Viewer's Choice,
Artistic Merit, Best Machine Workmanship and Judge's
Recognition at recent shows and first place at Bernina
University.
Nancy
is totally addicted to thread painting and her enthusiasm
in workshops can be contagious!!! Students comment
on her commitment to one-on-one attention and her
upbeat attitude. She travels the country teaching
and lecturing to anyone who will listen in order to
share the excitement and creativity thread painting
brings to her quilting world. She excels in taking
the mystic out of thread painting, making it easy
for anyone to master.
In
addition to husband, Tom, she has three grown sons
and eight adorable grandchildren - oh, yes and three
talented daughter-in-laws. She spends most of her
time juggling her family, quilting and teaching her
newfound passion. This passion has enriched her life
and keeps her centered and focused.

Chris
Eichner has been teaching thread painting, free-motion
embroidery, for four years and has won many awards
at quilt shows in North Carolina and Georgia. Chris'
thread painting "Autumn Along the Trail of Quilts"
was chosen for publication by Klaudeen Hasen of Quilt
Art 2012 Engagement Calendar during the AQS, 2010
Knoxville show in Tennessee.
Sulky
of America published the thread painting "Beautiful
Dogwoods" in the 2010 book, "Sew, Craft,
Quilt and Embroider Confidently with Sulky Stabilizers."
The thread painting entitled, "Pine Cone Scrub
at Cathedral Rock," will also be published in
Sulky of America's 2011 book.
John
C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, Georgia has
asked Chris to teach a thread painting workshop in
August, 2012. Chris has also agreed to teach at the
North Carolina Quilt Symposium to be held at Western
Carolina University in Cullowee, N.C. for June 7-10,
2012.
Chris
has sewn all of her life but only recently turned
her focus to- quilting, developing a passion for thread
painting. Her teaching techniques encourage even the
most timid to explore free-motion embroidery with
confidence. Many students have been surprised at their
artistic abilities.
Chris
and Richard, her supportive husband, have been married
for 45 years and living in the beautiful, inspiring
North Carolina mountains. "A day without thread
painting is like a day without sunshine." Chris
loves teaching and sharing her gift.
